The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has formally approved the construction of a Greenfield Airport in the Kota-Bundi region of Rajasthan with a project cost of around ₹1,507 crore. The flagship infrastructure initiative was cleared as part of wider national connectivity and development plans.
📌 Key project features:
- The airport will be developed by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) on land allocated by the Rajasthan government (approximately 440.06 hectares).
- It is planned to handle A-321 type aircraft with a runway of 3,200 m x 45 m and infrastructure to manage about 2 million passengers annually.
- Facilities will include a 20,000 sq m terminal, apron with multiple parking bays, air traffic control (ATC), fire station, taxiways, and support buildings.
