Rajasthan is hosting the 5th Khelo India University Games (KIUG) 2025 from 24 November to 5 December 2025 β the first time the state is staging this flagship university event.
The Games are being held across seven cities, including Kota along with Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Ajmer, Bikaner, and Bharatpur.
Preparations β from athlete hospitality to competition venues and logistics β are in full swing under the coordination of the Rajasthan State Sports Council (RSSC) and Sports Authority of India (SAI), with senior officials inspecting arrangements.
π Scale and Scope
~5,000+ athletes from over 200 universities nationwide are set to compete in 23 medal sports plus one demonstration sport (Kho-Kho).
The Games are designed to be a platform for university athletes to showcase talent, improve competitiveness, and possibly progress to national and international stages.
π Cities & Events in Rajasthan
Each host city will run specific sports β for example, Kota is scheduled to hold events such as fencing (25β28 Nov) and volleyball (1β4 Dec) as part of the broader Games schedule.
Other cities will host athletics, swimming, shooting, wrestling, weightlifting, football, hockey, and more.

KIUG is part of the Government of Indiaβs Khelo India initiative to strengthen grassroots sports and provide competitive opportunities at the university level.
