The 9th edition of the Chambal International Film Festival concluded here on Sunday, with an emphasis on promoting film shooting in Rajasthan. Dhurandhar Movie Trailer Launch Highlights: The time has finally arrived for the world to witness the trailer of the highly anticipated action thriller Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh in the lead role. Ranveer shared the trailer himself on social media on November 18. “I am the Wrath of God,” he wrote while sharing a new poster featuring his character. At the trailer launch, Ranveer praised his co-stars. talking about Sara Arjun, he said, “She is a child prodigy. She reminds me of Dakota Fanning. She has made me look good in the film.” Although the trailer launch was initially scheduled for November 12, the makers of the movie postponed the event following the blast outside the Red Fort in New Delhi last Monday. “As a mark of respect to the victims and families of yesterday’s Delhi blasts, as well as to be sensitive to the delicate situation concerning the health of our beloved Shri Dharmendra ji, the Dhurandhar trailer launch stands postponed,” they revealed in a statement. Also starring Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Sara Arjun, the movie’s first teaser, unveiled in July, had piqued moviegoers’ interest with its high-octane action sequences marked by intense and graphic violence, all centred on a raw and rugged Ranveer Singh. Written, directed, and co-produced by Aditya Dhar, known for helming Uri: The Surgical Strike (2019), Dhurandhar features music and background score by Shashwat Sachdev, cinematography by Vikash Nowlakha, and editing by Shivkumar V Panicker.

Sinners makes Oscars history, shattering record from La La Land, Titanic

Ryan Coogler’s Sinners just pulled off a holy feat of Oscars excellence by shattering a long-held Academy Awards record to become the most-nominated movie in history. Upon Thursday’s 98th Academy Awards nominations announcement, the Michael B. Jordan-starring vampire epic not only made strides for the often-ignored horror genre, but for films overall, as it racked up an astounding 16 nominations — the most nominations for one movie in Oscars history. As a result, the film blew past prior record holders La La Land (2016), Titanic (1997), and the Hollywood classic All About Eve (1950), all of which tied for the most number of nominations, earning 14 nods each. In addition to earning a nomination in the Academy’s brand new Best Casting category, Sinners dominated in a majority of the Oscars’ other competitive brackets. The film was one of the Academy’s 10 Best Picture nominees, and also earned recognition in categories like Makeup and Hairstyling, Original Score, Original Song, Sound, Visual Effects, Original Screenplay, Production Design, Costume Design, and Film Editing. The film’s talent, including director Coogler and lead actor Jordan, were also recognized for their individual work on the project. Delroy Lindo, a beloved Hollywood veteran whom has long been ignored by the Academy, earned his first-ever nomination in the Supporting Actor category. Wunmi Mosaku also earned her first nomination in the Supporting Actress category, for her powerful performance in the film that earned rave reviews on the critical circuit. Released in April 2025, Sinners additionally scored big box office returns, particularly for a non-sequel, non-adapted original story. The film earned approximately $368 million globally, becoming one of the top-grossing movies of the year in addition to earning glowing critic and audience reviews.
